Confidence, skill and perfect story-telling,
How Beyond Advice first learnt how to work a crowd.
007 knows what’s needed to charm an audience, but for this adventure, the physicality and mind games are turned. This is a story of dedicated training, aptitude and skill, and a new hero delivering such a performance, that this time Bond is beaten.
The location is a TV studio in Amsterdam in 1990. The reason, a live recording of Unicef’s celebrated ‘International Children’s Award’ dance competition. A studio audience, millions of TV viewers across the globe, and if that wasn’t enough, Roger Moore (aka 007) hosts the Show and leads an International panel of VIP judges.
First steps to success.
Our hero is Marine – only 10 years old, but a leading light in ‘ Le Ballet Jeunesse’, a Franco-Belge dance troop trained by well-known Belgian choreographer, Joëlle Morane, to compete against the best young dancers from all over the world. Neither shaken nor stirred, Marine and her troop executed a perfect routine, dancing a colourful story of fantastical childhood dreams, and touching the hearts of all present and the millions watching at home. Just like Bond, it was a precision performance – the result of dedicated training, physical dexterity and an unmissable delivery of real seduction. It was therefore of little surprise, when Roger Moore and his judging team awarded ‘Le Ballet Jeunesse’ with first place in the competition.
Dancing for James Bond was where Marine first learned the power of communication – an introduction to how stories can be built, enhanced and shared through creativity, and how the messages used to tell the story are most effective when delivered precisely. It was also the first time Marine understood the value of teamwork – how respect and coordination are paramount when working together to achieve shining results.
